 The main goals of the conference are:

  • Raise public awareness on official statistics and their value;
  • Stimulate dialogue among users and providers of statistics ensuring common empirical understanding;
  • Advocate visibility and support for statistical projects; and
  • Reinforce ties among the Geneva international organizations involved in the production of statistics.

The conference aims to illustrate how statistics facilitate evidence-based policy decision-making at international, regional and national levels; provide academia with ready-to-use data for various researches; and serve the general public in everyday life.

The discussion will highlight the role of statistics in addressing the most urgent issues shaping today's economic, social and environmental agenda. The sessions will be led by the chief statisticians of the co-organizers, high-level speakers and invited guests.
