Member States
The attention of Governments of States Members of the Conference is drawn to rule 4 of the rules of procedure of the Conference, which provides that credentials of their representatives are to be issued either by the Head of State or Government or by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country concerned.
All other participants (Observers)
All other participants (observers from specialized agencies and organizations institutionally linked to the United Nations; IGOs; NGOs and other organizations and civil society that have been invited by the Conference) should provide a letter of credentials duly signed by their respective heads of organizations.
How to register for the Conference
States wishing to attend the Conference are requested to submit to the UNCTAD secretariat by 9 January 2012 the credentials of their representatives and advisers (sample letter).
The specialized and related agencies, as well as interested organs of the United Nations and intergovernmental and directly concerned non-governmental organizations in consultative status with UNCTAD that wish to participate in the Conference as observers, are requested to inform the UNCTAD secretariat of the names of their representatives by the same date.
To expedite the process of registration and issuance of security badges, copies of the letter of credentials of representatives and the registration form for each participant should be faxed to the UNCTAD secretariat at the address below as early as possible and before 9 January 2012.
It is important to note that only registration forms corresponding to letters of credentials will be processed. The original of the letter of credentials should be presented during registration at the Conference in Geneva.
