The Global Commodities Forum (GCF) is part of UNCTAD´s response to persistance problems associated with commodities.
As a multi-stakeholder forum, the GCF seeks to bring together policymakers, the private sector, NGOs and leading experts from the academic and professional world.
Participants will assess key problems in the commodities sector and identify potential solutions. It will also consider the private sector response to current policy initiatives and market innovations, examining new commodity risk management and trade finance techniques.
The GCF initiative is intended to embrace all market participants. UNCTAD hopes it will contribute to market development by building consensus on ways to tackle the problems faced in commodities markets, and particularly on reducing market instability.
