ESIL lecture released: Prof. Armin von Bogdandy and Sovereign Debt Restructuring as Exercises of Public Authority, 12.4.12

A video featuring Prof. Armin von Bogdandy, Director at the Max Planck Institute, giving a lecture on Sovereign Debt Restructuring was recently released.

 

In the context of the academic conference co-organized by UNCTAD and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) held in Madrid on 2 March 2012, Prof. Armin von Bogdandy, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, gave a lecture sponsored by the European Society of International Law.


In this lecture entitled “Sovereign Debt Restructuring as Exercises of Public Authority”, Prof. von Bogdandy elaborated on the concept of international public authority and the reasons why actors involved in sovereign debt prevention and restructurings should follow certain international standards, such as the Principles on Responsible Sovereign Lending and Borrowing.
