Meeting for Asian countries, Bali, 8 to 10 June 2010

This Preparatory meeting is intended to provide Asian countries with an opportunity to identify their priorities and contributions to the Conference.

 

 

Indonesian Conference on Competition Law and Policy and
Preparatory Meeting for the Sixth United Nation Review Conference
Bali, Indonesia
8-10 June 2010

This meeting will address the following:

  1. Competition advocacy and agency effectiveness in rising national competitiveness.

  2. Competition policy strategy infacing economic integration and free trade negotiations.

  3. Increase the understanding of the central and local government of the importance of competition policy for economic development.

  4. Increase business awareness and compliance with competition policy and law, as well as finding the best strategy for facing the recent trends in free trade agreements.

  5. Assist ASEAN member countries to develop a regional competition policy and a strategy to introduce and implement competition policy and to increase the possibility for technical assistance or capacity building in the respective jurisdictions.

  6. Preparatory session for the upcoming 6th UN Conference of the United Nations Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices, to be held from 8 to 12 November 2010 in Geneva.

Participants will include competition authorities and organisations memebers of the AEGC, Indonesian academicians and business actors and related governments.
